Tired of shooting a black circle on a piece of paper over and over again?

Ever thought about competing in an action pistol match, but didn’t know how to begin?

This course will give the first time match shooter a comprehensive outline on what to expect, what to bring, rules, range etiquette, and what will be required of you- the shooter, to make the match run smoothly.

These matches include shooter movement, various types of target, multiple targets, different target presentations, disappearing targets, and whatever else the stage designer can come up with.

Matches also demand that the shooter come up with a stage plan in a short period of time. Accuracy and speed win the day at these matches.

The class will also include live firing of the U.S.P.S.A. Qualifying Stage so the first time shooter will learn what it is like to step up to the line and prepare to shoot a course of fire.

Course Requirements:

  • 9mm or larger caliber and pistol.
  • 100 rounds or more of ammunition.
  • External/outside the waistband holster (recommended).
  • 2 magazines.
  • Magazine carrier.
  • Eye & Ear Protection.
  • Valid New York State Pistol Permit & Driver’s License.

Course Fee: $100 cash/credit card

Class size: Limit 10 per class

*If interest in this course is higher than anticipated, more classes will be scheduled.

RISE is now hosting monthly U.S.P.S.A. matches on the 3rd Saturday of each month. These matches are a great way to try out the sport and see what action pistol shooting is all about.
