This course fulfills many state CCW permit safety course requirements. The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course consists of hands-on classroom and range instruction giving students the know-how to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols safely. Topics covered include NRA rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, different shooting positions, cleaning the pistol, safe storage and continued opportunities for skill development. Students also receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and after passing the written and range exams, a course completion certificate.
