Project Description

NRA Refuse to be a Victim Seminar

Learn the importance of being situationally aware always. By simply tweaking things you already do or eliminating the things that could potentially make you vulnerable, you will quickly see how much safer your life could be. Whatever your interest in safety is, RISE has a safety course for you.

Course Goal: To learn the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for developing a strategy for one’s personal safety.

This seminar includes classroom instruction on a variety of crime prevention strategies, from criminal psychology to automobile crimes to cybercrime. This seminar can be modified to suit the needs of a particular audience or concentration on a particular topic if so desired. This is not a firearms instruction course, and does not include instruction in physical combat self-defense. This seminar teaches you about common weaknesses that criminals may take advantage of, and teaches a variety of corrective measures that are practical, inexpensive, and easy to follow. Strategies include home security, carjack avoidance techniques, cyber safety, and use of personal safety devices. Students will receive the Refuse To Be A Victim student handbook, NRA Refuse To Be A Victim® brochure, NRA Become A Refuse To Be A Victim® Instructor Brochure, Refuse To Be A Victim® Firearms Supplement, and a course completion certificate.
