FLORIDA/UTAH COURSE FEE $150.00 

 

THE FLORIDA/UTAH PERMIT IS VALID IN THE FOLLOWING STATES:

Due to reciprocity laws between states, the Florida and Utah concealed carry permits are currently recognized in 36 states. This means that if you are a Florida or Utah resident, and you hold a valid concealed carry permit, you can legally carry concealed in any of the other 36 states. Alabama. Alaska. Arizona. Arkansas. Colorado (resident permit only.) Delaware. Georgia. Idaho. Indiana. Iowa. Kansas. Kentucky. Louisiana. Maine. Michigan (resident permit only.) Mississippi. Missouri. Montana. Nebraska. Nevada. New Hampshire. New Mexico. North Carolina. North Dakota. Ohio. Oklahoma. Pennsylvania (resident permit only). South Carolina (resident permit only). South Dakota. Tennessee. Texas. Utah. Vermont. Virginia. West Virginia. Wisconsin (Does not honor Non-Resident permits.) Wyoming.

 

 

STATES THAT CURRENTLY DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE FLORIDA/UTAH PERMIT: 

California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington, Wisconsin.

 

COURSE CURRICULUM:

  • Basic firearm mechanics & operation
  • Concealed Carry Ammunition overview
  • Different types of Concealed Carry firearms
  • CCW General firearm safety
  • Legal instruction including:
    •  Justifiable Force, Citizen’s Arrest, Reciprocity, Firearm transport, etc.
  • Concealed Carry Firearm storage & accessories overview (holsters, safes, etc)
  • Escalation of Force
  • Criminal & Civil Liability
  • Firing stances and positions

 

UTAH PERMIT INFORMATION

After you attend the course, you will need to get fingerprinted and get a passport sized photo. Next you will put all of the paperwork from the course, along with a copy of your driver’s license, a check for the Utah application fee in the envelope and send it all off in the mail.

The course fee DOES NOT include the processing fee for Utah..

 

A handgun permit is not required to apply for the Utah Non Resident permit, however the Utah permit is not valid in New York State.

 

The cost to submit the application to Utah State is CURRENTLY $63.25. Applications must be submitted within one year of completing the course. The Utah Permit is valid for five years and costs $15 to renew. A New York pistol permit is NOT required to get a Utah permit. However, the Utah permit is NOT valid in New York 

 

UTAH INSTRUCTIONS:

 

Minimum requirements for application for a concealed firearms permit in Utah  are:

 

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age for the standard permit; at least 18 years of age for the provisional permit.

 

Proof of good character…whereas the applicant;

  • has not been convicted of a felony;
  • has not been convicted of any crime of violence;
  • has not been convicted of any offense involving the use of alcohol;
  • has not been convicted of any offenses involving the unlawful use of narcotics or other controlled substances;
  • has not been convicted of any offenses involving moral turpitude;
  • has not been convicted of any offense involving domestic violence;
  • has not been adjudicated by a court of a state or of the United States as mentally incompetent, unless the adjudication has been withdrawn or reversed
  • is qualified to purchase and possess a firearm pursuant to Section 76-10-503 and federal law
  • *A criminal background check is conducted for all applicants*

 

What Must Accompany the Application?

A Photocopy of your state issued Driver License

Photograph. One recent color photograph of passport quality.

Fingerprint Card. One fingerprint card. Must be filled out completely. Writing and prints must be legible. Fingerprints should be taken by a trained fingerprint technician. Fingerprint cards that are not legible will be returned to the applicant and will cause a delay in processing the application.

Certificate of Completion

 

*Fingerprint services are available from BCI or may be offered through your local law enforcement agency. There are private businesses that also offer this service. Check in your local phone directory.

*Florida requires a live fire portion, therefore a NYS pistol permit is a must.*

 

Note: New York State DOES NOT recognize the Florida or Utah permits.
